Flu season is coming! The best way to reduce your risk from seasonal flu and its potentially serious complications is to get vaccinated yearly. September and October are good months to be vaccinated!
Vaccines are an important step you can take for yourself or your children for protection against serious illnesses. At Fenway Health, we want you to be empowered to take the steps you need in order to be healthy during the cold and flu season
Eligibility
All persons aged 6 months and older who do not have contraindications are recommended to receive the seasonal flu vaccine. Please visit the CDC for more information.
- High Dose Flu Vaccine is recommended for all people ages 65 and older.

Fenway Health now has COVID-19 vaccine in stock and recommends that all patients get the updated seasonal COVID booster.
If you have not had a COVID vaccination previously, we recommend that you get vaccinated.

The state of Massachusetts announced on September 4 that all Massachusetts insurance plans will be covering the COVID vaccine in full for the 25-26 booster season.
- CVS and Walgreen’s pharmacies have resumed scheduling COVID and Flu vaccines under a standing order from the Massachusetts Department of Public health so patients can schedule thru them if they so choose without needing a prescription from a doctor.
- Massachusetts is collaborating with neighboring New England states to support similar initiatives in the surrounding states.

Eligibility
The CDC recommends seasonal administration of one dose of RSV vaccine for pregnant people during weeks 32-36 of pregnancy to help protect the baby for up to 6 months after birth.

- The CDC recommends children younger than 8 months and children ages 8 to 19 months at higher risk for severe RSV receive one RSV antibody immunization called nirsevimab (Beyfortus)
- The CDC recommends that children born before 35 weeks and younger than six months and children with chronic heart and lung disease younger than 2 years discuss an RSV antibody immunization, palivizumab (Synagis), which is given monthly during the flu and cold season
The CDC recommends a single dose of RSV vaccine for all adults aged ≥75 years and for adults aged 60–74 years who are at increased risk for severe RSV disease. Adults aged 60–74 years who are at increased risk include persons with certain chronic medical conditions, persons with moderate or severe immune compromise, and persons living in nursing homes.

We currently have RSV protection for all eligible patients including pediatric, pregnant, and patients 60 years and older.
