Fenway Health is excited to join in the nationwide celebration of America’s 1,400 community health centers (CHCs) during National Health Center Week 2025. Taking place August 3–9, this annual event honors the timeless efforts CHCs make to public health, providing quality, comprehensive healthcare services to over 32.5 million patients at 16,000 sites across the country each year in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and US territories.

This year’s theme is America’s Health Centers: Celebrating Past, Present, and Future, marking the 60th anniversary since the founding of the first community health centers in 1965. Health centers like Fenway Health are the lifeblood of affordable, accessible care for 1 out of 15 people in the United States.

This is an especially important time to rally support for community health centers which are facing challenges from inflation, medical supply chain disruptions, and higher operating costs. On top of this, potential cuts to federal health center funding and instability in Medicaid and Medicare reimbursement rates as well as underpayment for services by many commercial insurers threaten healthcare for tens of millions of low-income patients.

Serving the Community Since 1971

Since 1971, Fenway Health has delivered innovative, equitable, accessible health care, supportive services, and transformative research and education rooted in the LGBTQIA+ community and racial justice with the goal of empowering people from all walks of life to live, love, and thrive freely.

At a time when the communities we serve face growing threats, Fenway’s future depends on one thing: moving forward together. With shared purpose and strong partnerships—within our organization and beyond—we can meet the moment.

Our new Strategic Plan, Mission, Vision, and Values reflect our evolution and our continued focus: to support our team, protect our mission, and expand care for those too often left behind.

No organization succeeds alone, and that’s especially true for Fenway. Everything we do—care, research, education, advocacy—is grounded in our mission. And none of it happens without you. Your support and partnership makes our work possible.

Together, we advance. Together, we heal. Together, we rise.

Legislative Advocacy

Fenway Health advocates for legislation and budget priorities that align with our mission to serve the LGBTQIA+ community, those living with HIV/AIDS, and those who are vulnerable to healthcare access inequities. We are committed to breaking down barriers and working towards the principle that healthcare is a right, not a privilege.

Read more about our legislative priorities on our website and reach out to your State Senators and Representatives to let them know you support legislation that protects the future of community health.
