The Fenway Institute at Fenway Health will host its Second Annual Poster Celebration on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 5:30 PM at the Fenway Health Ansin Building, 1340 Boylston Street, 10th Floor. This event will highlight bold, community-rooted research at the front lines of LGBTQIA+ and HIV health—at a time when defending and advancing this work is more critical than ever.
Despite ongoing federal funding threats and the lasting impact of hostile policies from the Trump administration, The Fenway Institute continues to demonstrate national leadership through robust in-house research, education, and policy advocacy. The upcoming Poster Celebration will feature 20 scientific posters presented by the 2024–2025 Kenneth H. Mayer and Harvard Medical School-Fenway Health LGBTQIA+ Health Fellowship Program, Fenway Health Postdoctoral Fellows, and trainees across the TFI ecosystem.
The evening will also include a keynote address from Dr. Carlos Rodríguez-Díaz, Chair and Professor of Community Health Sciences at the Boston University School of Public Health and longtime TFI collaborator and thought leader in public health equity.
The showcased work spans biomedical clinical trials, socio-behavioral science, epidemiology, health informatics, and medical education —with every project rooted in Fenway’s unique ability to run rigorous studies and provide robust clinical education through a community health center model. Principal Investigators and fellows alike are proving that cutting-edge science can be designed with, by, and for the communities most impacted.
“ We are excited that Fenway Health is hosting this poster session, which showcases the scholarship and innovative clinical education undertaken by our affiliated faculty, fellows, and staff. There are few community health centers anywhere that also support in house activities focused on clinical research, community and provider education, and policy. All of the work conducted by The Fenway Institute has immediate relevance to the communities we serve,” said Kenneth H. Mayer, M.D., Medical Research Director at Fenway Health and Co-Director of The Fenway Institute.
“In this moment of extreme challenge for LGBTQIA+ health and science, it’s wonderful to have this opportunity to gather and joyfully highlight what our special community of scholars has been able to accomplish,” said Amy Ben‑Arieh, JD, MPH, Executive Director of The Fenway Institute
Join us in celebrating the future of LGBTQIA+ health research, meet the next generation of leaders in the field, and engage in meaningful conversations over light refreshments and drinks. Remarks will be offered by Dr. Jennifer Potter and Dr. Kenneth Mayer, Co-Chairs of The Fenway Institute.
