Sharp Vision = Sharp Minds

As backpacks get packed and pencils get sharpened, don’t forget one of the most important school supplies—clear vision!  Our elite team of Optometrists at Fenway Health are equipped to see patients as young as 6 months old and recommend that all children should have at least one comprehensive eye exam by the time they reach school age, and even sooner, if there is a bigger concern.
With approximately 65% of students being visual learners, impaired vision can significantly impact a child’s ability to engage, comprehend, and retain information. One eye exam where we check students’ visual acuity, depth perception, color perception, sustained focusing capabilities, muscle function, and overall ocular health can make a world of difference in your child’s learning, confidence, and overall success in the classroom.
Kids may not always realize they’re struggling to see the board, read books, or focus on screens.  Eye rubbing/fatigue, squinting, light sensitivity, trouble with hand eye coordination, the need to hold reading materials too close or far away, and an eye turn are some physical signs to look for. Other more indirect cues may include end of day headaches, trouble with concentration, or struggle with reading.  These indicators can often present subtly.  That’s why a yearly eye exam is so important—especially before the school year kicks off!
So, start the year off right by scheduling an eye exam at Fenway Health today!  We are open Monday-Thursday 8am-7pm and Friday 8am-5pm. Call 617.927.6190.
Let’s make this school year the clearest one yet! 👀✨
